Absorbents for facilities management and cleaning contractors

Facilities teams and cleaning contractors are the first to be called when something leaks in a building: water from a pipe or a roof, a spill in a corridor, oil in a plant room or car park. We make the absorbents that distributors and brands supply to them, under their own label and in mixed containers.

ProductWhat it does here
Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) Flat SocksSAP flat socks, leak pads, maxi leak pads and flood barriers that turn water into gel, for leaks, burst pipes and water at doors.
High-Visibility Universal Absorbent RollCaution-printed universal rolls and pads that absorb the spill and mark the wet floor, for corridors, entrances and public areas.
Universal Absorbent ProductsGrey pads, rolls, socks and pillows for oils, coolants, solvents and water-based fluids, for plant rooms, car parks and maintenance.

Three kinds of job

Most of the spills a facilities or cleaning team deals with fall into three groups, and each has a product that suits it best.

  • Water: leaking pipes, chillers, condensate, roof leaks and rain under doors. SAP products turn the water into gel, so nothing drips when they are lifted.
  • Wet floors where people walk: walkways, doorways, entrances and other public areas. Hi-vis caution-printed rolls and pads absorb the spill and warn people at the same time.
  • Oils and mixed liquids: plant rooms, generator and boiler areas, car parks, loading areas and maintenance work. Grey universal absorbents take on oils, coolants, solvents and water-based fluids alike.

Water leaks: SAP products

Superabsorbent polymer sits as dry granules inside a welded fabric sleeve, so the products store thin and flat in a cleaner's cupboard. On contact with water each granule swells and holds the water as a gel that does not drain back out.

  • Flat socks (up to 2 litres each): under sinks, chillers and freezers, along thresholds and in condensate trays.
  • Leak pads: for everyday drips; they stay put as they swell.
  • Maxi leak pads: for burst pipes, defrost overflow and roof leaks.
  • Flood barriers: laid flat where water is coming in, they swell with water, divert run-off and stack to height, with no sand and no shovels.

Wet floors in public areas

A caution-printed absorbent does two jobs: it holds the liquid and tells everyone walking past that the floor needs care. Our hi-vis rolls are perforated down the centre and across, so one roll gives four usable sizes without a knife, and the printed face stands up to light foot and trolley traffic. The print can be our standard caution design or your own artwork, wording and language. High-visibility marking supplements, but does not replace, proper signage and safety procedures.

Plant rooms and car parks

In plant rooms, car parks and loading areas the liquid is often oil or a mix of oil and water. Universal pads go under drips and on drum tops, rolls line walkways, socks go around equipment bases and drains, and pillows sit under slow leaks. Grey is the industry standard for universal absorbents and hides grime, so pads look cleaner for longer.

Use the right product for the liquid

SAP products are for fresh, rain and ground water only; they do not absorb oils, solvents or salt water. For oils, use universal or oil-only absorbents. For acids, alkalis and aggressive cleaning chemicals, use chemical absorbents, and test the hi-vis roll before use with aggressive chemicals. Clear labels on each pack help cleaning staff pick the right one quickly.

Supplying facilities customers under your brand

We supply distributors and brands who sell under their own name. SAP products, hi-vis rolls and universal absorbents can be combined in one 40'HQ container, with 5–6 different products in all. Plain polybags are standard; printed polybags, cartons and labels are available at extra cost.
