Absorbents for mining and heavy equipment
Mine sites and heavy-equipment fleets deal with oil, fuel and hydraulic fluid every day: leaks under parked machines, spills during field servicing and refuelling, and oily water in ponds and drains. We make the oil-only and universal absorbents that distributors supply to these sites, under their own label and in mixed containers.

Products
What we supply for this
| Product | What it does here |
|---|---|
| Oil Absorbent Products | Oil-only pads, rolls, socks, pillows, booms and sweeps in 100% PP meltblown: absorb oils, fuels and hydrocarbons, repel water and float, up to 15 times their own weight in oil. |
| Universal Absorbent Products | Grey universal pads, rolls, socks and pillows for oils, coolants, solvents and water-based fluids alike, for workshops and maintenance bays. |
Why oil-only is the main line for mine sites
Much of the work on a mine site happens outdoors, in rain, mud and standing water. Oil-only absorbents are made from 100% polypropylene meltblown, which attracts oils, fuels and other hydrocarbons and repels water. On a wet surface an oil-only pad takes up the oil and leaves the water behind, so it is not used up soaking rainwater. Oil-only sorbents also keep floating when saturated, so the same range works on land and on water.
Universal absorbents take on oils, coolants, solvents and water-based fluids alike. They belong in the workshop and maintenance bays, where coolant and mixed spills are common and the floor is under cover.
Which format goes where
A range for mine sites and plant yards usually covers:
- Pads: drips and leaks under machines, lining drip trays and repair zones.
- Rolls: large-area cover under plant and temporary flooring during servicing, perforated to tear to size.
- Socks: around machine bases and sumps, damming small spills, and around drains.
- Pillows: under leaking valves and inside drip pans, and as overnight leak cover where a pad is too thin.
- Booms: around spills on water, and to protect drains and outfalls.
- Sweeps: drawn across effluent ponds, tailings dams and stormwater channels to lift trace oil and sheen.
Built for heavy handling
Pads and rolls are made in seven constructions, plain or bonded. A spunbond face adds strength and abrasion resistance where pads are walked on, dragged or handled with gloves, which suits plant yards and service bays. Socks, pillows and booms have a sonic-welded outer and are filled to the weight you specify. Booms are netted, with end fittings so one boom can be linked to the next.
Stock for spill kits on site
Mobile and fixed spill kits on mine sites are refilled with the same pads, socks and pillows. If you assemble or refill kits, tell us the contents of each kit and we will make each item to size and pack it the way your kits need.
Supply under your brand
Oil-only comes in white or blue and universal in grey as standard; every other parameter is open: construction, size, weight, fill, perforation, print and packing. You can combine 5–6 different products in one 40'HQ container, so oil-only and universal pads, rolls, socks, pillows, booms and sweeps can travel together. Plain polybags are standard; printed polybags, cartons and labels are available at extra cost.

Do oil-only absorbents float?
Yes. They keep floating even when saturated, so they can be used on ponds, dams and drains as well as on land.
Do you make booms and sweeps?
