Match the absorbent to the liquid
The first choice is between oil-only and universal. Many workshops keep both.
- Engine and gear oil, hydraulic fluid, diesel and petrol: oil-only (white or blue). It ignores water, so it works on a wet floor or outdoors in the rain.
- Coolant, screen-wash and other water-based fluids, or a mix of oil and water: universal (grey). It takes on oils and water-based fluids alike.
- Battery acid and other aggressive chemicals: chemical absorbents, which are made for acids and alkalis.
Which format goes where
Each format does a different job in a workshop. A typical range for workshop customers covers:
- Pads: drips under vehicles and gearboxes, lining drip trays, workbenches and repair zones.
- Rolls: lining service bays, walkways and ramps; perforated so a mechanic can tear off what is needed.
- Socks: around machine bases, sumps and drains, and across doorways to stop a spill spreading.
- Pillows: under persistent drips and slow leaks, where a pad is too thin.
- Hi-vis printed rolls: wash bays and walkways, where people need to see that the floor needs care.
- Wipers: hands, tools, parts and benches.
A recycled option
Our shoddy felt pads and rolls are needle-punched from reclaimed textile fibre with no chemical binders. The oil grade is 80% recycled cotton and 20% recycled polyester; the universal grade is 40% recycled viscose, 40% recycled acrylic and 20% recycled polyester. The felt is dense and lies flat on rough workshop floors, and unperforated pads and rolls can be cut to any size. For distributors tendering into contracts with environmental criteria, it gives a straightforward recycled-content answer.
Build a workshop range under your brand
We supply distributors and brands who sell under their own name. Oil-only comes in white or blue and universal in grey as standard, and the rest is open: construction, size, weight, fill, perforation, print and packing. You can combine 5–6 different products in one 40'HQ container, so pads, rolls, socks, felt and wipers can travel together. Plain polybags are standard; printed polybags, cartons and labels are available at extra cost.
