Filter media for liquid, fuel and hydraulic filters
A liquid filter is usually built from several layers: a fine layer that captures the particles, a support or scrim layer that carries it through pleating, and sometimes a pre-filter or a water-separating layer. We manufacture these layers and supply them made to order, to the specification of your filter.

Products
What we supply for this
| Product | What it does here |
|---|---|
| Meltblown Non-Woven Fabric | The fine filtration layer: PP, PET or PBT meltblown with fibres under 10 µm, for liquid, hydraulic, fuel and engine filters. |
| Automotive Filtration Media | Ready-to-use media for oil, hydraulic and fuel-water filters: synthetic mesh-reinforced media, cellulose media and PBT–cellulose composites. |
| Nylon 6 Spunbond Non-Woven Fabric | Support and scrim layers for pleated filters, and filtration layers that stay stable in contact with oils, fuels and many solvents. |
| PET Spunbond Non-Woven Fabric | Support layers for pleated and liquid filters that hold their size through heat and processing. |
| Needle Punched Non-Woven Fabric | Thicker felts for liquid filtration, in PET, PP, nylon and other fibres, from light to heavy weights. |

The layers in a liquid filter
Most liquid filter elements combine more than one material. The fine layer does the filtering; the layers around it make it possible to pleat, wrap or support that layer and keep it in place under flow and pressure.
- Fine filtration layer: meltblown or a cellulose or composite medium, chosen for the particle size and efficiency you need.
- Support or scrim layer: spunbond (nylon 6 or PET) that gives strength and stiffness for pleating and protects the fine layer.
- Pre-filter or depth layer: a more open meltblown or a needle-punched felt that holds coarse dirt before it reaches the fine layer.
- Water separation in fuel filters: PBT and cellulose composite media that remove water from fuel.
Synthetic, cellulose or composite?
Cellulose and cellulose composite media are used in engine oil, fuel and hydraulic filters and in turbine filtration. Fully synthetic, mesh-reinforced media are used where the filter needs extra strength, for heavy-duty and hydraulic use. Composites combine layers to reach several filtration stages in one medium.
We make synthetic, cellulose and composite media. We do not make glass-fibre media.
Made to your specification
We do not sell standard stock grades. Every medium is made to order to match the specification of your filter: weight, thickness, air permeability, efficiency, stiffness and roll format. If you are replacing a medium you already use, send us its data sheet or a sample, and tell us the fluid, the operating temperature and how you test the filter.
Because meltblown, spunbond and needle-punched media come from our own lines, the fine layer and its support layer can be specified together and shipped together.
What to tell us when you enquire
- Filter type and the fluid it filters (oil, fuel, hydraulic fluid, water, process liquid)
- Operating temperature
- Target efficiency and particle size, and your test method
- Air permeability or flow and pressure-drop targets
- Weight and thickness
- Pleated, wrapped or laminated, and on which machine
- Roll width, length and core size
- Quantity and destination port

FAQ
Questions buyers ask
Do you have standard filter media grades in stock?
No. Filter media are made to order to the specification of your filter. Send us the data sheet or a sample of the medium you use now.
Do you make glass-fibre filter media?
No. We make synthetic, cellulose and composite media.
Which polymers can you make in meltblown?
PP, PET and PBT, with fibres under 10 µm.
Can the filtration layer and the support layer come from you together?
Yes. Meltblown, nylon 6 and PET spunbond and needle-punched felts are all made on our own lines, and different products can be combined in one container.
What is the minimum order?
One 40'HQ container, in which 5–6 different products can be combined. For PET or nylon spunbond on its own, one 20-foot container.
Can I get samples?
Yes. Samples are free and we pay the courier.
